After a successful career in corporate Human Resources, I left my role as Vice President of a business-to-business tech firm in San Francisco after starting a family. I transitioned to the financial services industry in 2010, helping families with financial and retirement planning for their goals, dreams and desires using a holistic approach. For the women who came to me later in life, near or already in retirement, most felt lost, and had a lot of judgment around past financial decisions and uncertainty about how long their money would last. I felt their pain and understood their struggles and challenges with not knowing what to do or where to turn.

 Growing up, my family struggled as well. When my parents divorced, my mom was forced to raise four kids on her own without any financial support from my dad. She entered the workforce with a high school diploma, no work history or marketable skills. It was a struggle raising a family with barely above a minimum wage job trying to feed four kids and have a roof over our heads. For a period of time we were on welfare. 

 I didn’t grow up thinking I wanted to be in finances, quite the opposite. I grew up intimidated by the thought of that, but it was through life circumstances that I entered the field years later.

 I have a financial advisory practice, and have more recently starting a financial education and coaching practice, helping women with their relationship with money as well as incorporating key financial foundations, areas where we transfer away wealth unknowingly and unnecessarily, and risk areas that affect women moreso than men. Our relationship with money and success also plays a role. I bridge the spiritual side of how one relates to money, what I call the Yin side of money, along with the more practical side, that Yang side of money. Money is simply a tool. It doesn’t change who we are at our core, but it can and often does amplify it.
